Therapy

In therapy, we playfully introduce young children to the discovery of language. We teach them that it is worth expressing themselves more precisely. We work out strategies with them on how they can persevere despite difficulties instead of breaking off communication. Therapy also includes advising parents so that they can better understand and support their child.

Our therapeutic approach is based on Barbara Zollinger's developmental speech therapy. The children's play, action and communication behavior is specifically encouraged through joint play. Depending on the child, we also incorporate other therapy methods.

Therapy sessions take place in an individual setting at our therapy center in Stäfa, once or twice a week, in phases of several months. We treat children until they start kindergarten. Our therapy languages are: Swiss German, German.

The therapies are paid for by the Canton of Zurich. The prerequisite is a clarification and cost approval from the Special Education Department at the Children's Hospital Zurich/Cantonal Hospital Winterthur.
